This is an early warning that we expect the server component for B1 Usability Package 2019.08 (That will be released in August 2019) to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: SAP have recently in their Roadmap indicated that from SAP Business One 10.0 They will only support 64-bit SAP Business One Client (and 64-bit only DI-API). So to be ready for this release we are moving all the features that were previously 32-bit only to be 64-bit only.
Q: What does that mean for me?
A: It means that you wish to run B1UP 2018.08 and higher you need to install the 64-bit DI-API on the server running the Server Component instead of the 32-bit and make sure other add-ons and services support this switch.
Q: Will you keep making a 32-bit version of the server component as well?
A: No, we will only offer a single bit-version of the Server Component (if we offered both there would be a chance that someone installed both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version by mistake on the same server and that would result in issues)
Q: I have no plans of moving to SAP Business One 10.0. Does it still affect me?
A: Yes, if you continue to run SAP 9.2/9.3 and upgrade to B1UP 2019.08 or higher you will need to migrate to your server-component installation to 64-bit.
Q: What about the Add-on inside the B1 Client; Will you only offer that as 64-bit as well?
A: No, As long as you are on a version that also supports SBO 9.2 and 9.3 we will still offer a 32-bit version of the Add-on itself. That being said; with general 32-bit support going away on SAP's end, there will come a time when we will go SAP Business One 10.0 specific, and at such a time of cause it does not make sense to offer a 32-bit add-on version.
Q: I have more questions/concerns. How can you help?
A: Please send us a support ticket on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you out/listen to your concerns.
