New version [October 7, 2026 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce: Field mapping for reading Just Plan It planning data from SAP Business One

What is new: Produce now supports a configurable field mapping to read planning data from Just Plan It (JPI).

Background: JPI writes planning data through its API into custom fields in SAP Business One. The customer defines which fields are used. Until now, Produce could not recognize these custom fields automatically. This meant Produce could not match the planning data from JPI.

What changed: You can now configure in Produce, which SAP Business One fields contain the planning data written by JPI. SAP Business One works as a data hub between JPI and Produce.

Benefit: Customers who use Just Plan It and Produce together can now work with synchronized planning data, no matter which fields JPI uses to write the data.

New version [March 19, 2026 @11:30 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect / Manager

The release adds yet another piece of information exported from Inspect / Manager to SAP Business One, i.e. the code (identifier) of the inspection plan used in a given inspection order. You can find the new field in the user defined table Inspection Result Order (BOY_CLOUD_INSP_RESO).

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce / Operator, Inspect / Operator

Fixed minor issues that affected the validation messages on the login modal of these applications.

New version [March 3, 2026 @17:00 UTC]

New features

  • All applications

As announced earlier, this release upgrades our authentication service to improve security. The change adds stronger protection through multi-factor authentication (MFA). Once the upgrade went live, you will need to activate your account in the new authentication system. To do so, click Forgot Password in the new login modal. The process is quick and straightforward, just follow the steps outlined in this article.

New version [December 18, 2025 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect

So far, when setting up tests in an inspection plan or inspection order in Inspect / Manager, inspection managers could only use a name field to describe them. Now they can also enter further specifications for their tests, such as the norm/standard/certificate the test is based on using the newly added Additional information field. This information is also displayed for inspectors when they process the related inspection orders in Inspect / Operator.

Thanks to this release, much more test-related information is exported to SAP Business One and stored there in the table BOY_CLOUD_INSP_REST. The newly recorded fields include Additional Information provided by the manager besides the test’s name, the inspector’s Comment on the test along with the inspector’s (operator’s) code (Employee ID), and, for variable tests, the minimum, desired and maximum values (Min Variable, Target Variable, Max Variable).

  • Produce / Manager

Produce has been enhanced with support for the case when a company is divided into branches in SAP Business One. In such a setup, a branch must be specified when creating a transaction. Therefore, for companies with multiple branches, the Warehouse settings page in Produce / Manager displays the list of available branches and offers dropdowns to select the scrap warehouse for each of them.

New version [December 10, 2025 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Build

Build's operation plans now offer all four options that are available in the Type column of the bill of materials in SAP Business One, i.e. Item, Resource, Text, Route stage. Following Operations (the equivalents of SAP's route stages), Resources and Materials (the equivalents of SAP's items), you can now also add Instructions to your operation plans. Instructions are synchronized into text lines in the bill of materials in SAP Business One and vice versa. As a useful enhancement, Build's instructions may contain clickable hyperlinks.

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

The performance and reliability of Cloud Apps infrastructure has been further improved.

New version [November 13, 2025 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect / Manager

Goods receipt inspection processes have been greatly enhanced by introducing automatic warehouse booking. When configuring goods receipt automation rules, now you will find a new section, called Warehouse release, on the Post events card. Here you can specify the route of incoming goods before and after inspection. You can select the Source warehouse, i.e. the storage where the goods are received. From there, the stock will be moved on to the Inspection warehouse that you specify. Finally, depending on the result of the inspection, the items land in the Target warehouse for passed inspections or the Target warehouse for failed inspections, selected from the respective dropdowns. If the Target warehouse for passed inspections is managed by bins, you can set the target bin. For each step, you can tick the radio buttons Perform transfer or Transfer request to decide whether the items are actually moved (i.e. an inventory transfer is triggered in SAP Business One) or just a document (i.e. an inventory transfer request) is created about the intended move in the ERP system. All transfers and transfer requests are logged under a new menu item in Inspect / Manager, labelled Transactions. Beside the label, you can see the number of failed transactions, if any. The list of transactions shows the purpose, type, status and date of the events, as well as the number of the corresponding inspection order. The list can be set to show all transactions or only those that, for some reason, could not be processed. Selecting a transaction from the list will open the transaction’s details page, which has two tabs. Its Overview tab shows general information, including batch and serial numbers, if any. The other tab, called Processing details, is particularly useful if a transaction fails. It contains a log of processing attempts along with the corresponding error messages. The page has a toggle switch that you can set to ignore the errors and a button that you can press to retry processing.

  • Inspect / Manager, Inspect / Operator

Inspect has added further support to the case when the quality check of several batches or serial-numbered items need to be covered by a single inspection order. If an inspection order involves more than one batch or serial number, now the label Multiple is displayed in the Batch number or Serial number column, respectively. The inspection order detail page lists all the corresponding batch/serial numbers in newly added frames.

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce / Manager

Fixed a bug that resulted in discrepancies between the number of production orders with a given priority on the Dashboard and the number of production orders with the same priority in the list of production orders.

New version [October 23, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

The release contains synchronization and performance optimizations. The processing limit has been raised multiple times by implementing measures such as increasing the DB throughput, adding more processing power to event processing components and introducing autoscaling based on the synchronization load.

  • Inspect / Manager

The release improves the reliability and security of the applications through upgrades and minor bug fixes.

  • Inspect / Manager

The layout of the automation detail pages has been improved.

New version [August 6, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce

If your ERP system is SAP Business One, Produce now allows to set how batch numbers are managed when a production order gets partially completed. The Settings / General settings page in Produce / Manager got a new vertical tab called Batch settings. If the New batch for each partial completion checkbox is selected there, then Produce will generate a new batch number for the product whenever processing arrives at a partial completion. Otherwise the product will get a new batch number only upon the full completion of the production order. By default, the checkbox is unselected.

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce, Schedule

The cooperation between Produce and Schedule has been further enhanced. As soon as an operation is started or restarted in Produce / Operator, the remaining quantity recorded in it is now passed on to Schedule. Schedule needs this information to calculate the time to manufacture the remaining quantity and to block the resource assigned to the operation accordingly.

New version [July 17, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New version [June 30, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Schedule

It is now possible to define a time buffer that is considered for all jobs with backward scheduling strategies (JIT or JIT+). This time period is then considered in addition to the due date during automatic finite scheduling. You have to specify this due date buffer in the Manage Job Details dialogue when a backward scheduling strategy is selected. Once you have defined a JIT buffer the automatic finite scheduling engine will directly consider the time span by deducting it from the due date. The new feature makes backward scheduling an absolutely valid option, even in a dynamic shop floor environment.

Another new feature is the active tooltip: In the new version, you can open a hyperlink directly from a task tooltip.

In order to keep the data managed by the scheduling engine at the minimum, you can now separate scheduling relevant SAP Business One (SBO) resources from non-scheduling relevant ones. The new functionality is based on the resource properties available under resource master data in SBO. To block the import of a resource from SBO into Schedule, you just need to select a property in the DoNotImportResource field of the B1 Import Settings dialogue and tick the given property's checkbox in the SBO resource master data.

Similarly, you can now use one of the 64 resource properties available in the SBO resource master data to indicate whether you wish to use the given SBO resource as a resource group in Schedule. To do so, select a property in the IsResourceGroup field of the B1 Import Settings dialogue in Schedule and tick the property's checkbox in the SBO resource master data. The new functionality liberates the SBO resource type Other to be used as it was originally intended by SAP.

Custom fields (User defined fields or UDFs in SBO terminology) have already been available in production order titles in Produce. Now they can be used in Schedule, too - and not only in the title, but also in route stage (operation) rows of production orders. For title and route stage rows, the UDF specified in SBO should be listed in the Name column under Settings -> Custom fields -> Job custom fields and Settings -> Custom fields -> Task custom fields, respectively. UDFs cannot be edited in Schedule but can be used for filtering, creating color schemes, shown in the tooltip, etc.

While SBO allows a linear chain of route stages (operations) only, Schedule users can now create net structures of them, even within a single production order. For example, you can specify a route stage with two predecessors. The configuration can be set in the Manage Job Details dialogue. Note that, when synchronizing SBO and Schedule, the net structures you specified will persist in Schedule but will not be exported into SBO.

New version [May 29, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce, Schedule

If Schedule integration is enabled in the Produce / Manager settings, the sequence numbers used in Schedule are now synchronized into Produce. They are displayed in the new Sequence number column in the list of production orders in Produce / Manager and the operation lists in Produce / Operator.

  • Produce

Shop floor operators can now add a remark to the operation that they are working or planning to pick up. They can enter the text in a newly implemented field in the operation's detail view in Produce / Operator, and save it by clicking a button. Once the remark is saved, the production manager can review it in the detail view of the corresponding production order, and take any necessary action.

New version [April 30, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect

Inspect now allows shopfloor inspectors to share their observations with the inspection manager using their terminal application. Inspectors can enter their comments regarding each test of each sample in a newly added text field in Inspect / Operator. The comments are saved upon every save action. Before completing an inspection order, the inspector can review not only the inspection results, but also the comments about them on a separate tab. As soon as a comment is saved in Inspect / Operator, it is displayed as part of the results in the inspection order detail view in Inspect / Manager. The number of comments is also indicated for each test and each sample in the terminal and the manager application, respectively. Thanks to the new commenting functionality, the manager can get more information and stay fully up-to-date about the inspection process.

The release improves the technical foundations, and thus the reliability and performance of Cloud Apps.

Hotfix [April 4, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

Fixed an issue that occasionally did not let users log in to Cloud Apps.

New version [April 1, 2025 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce, Schedule and VAPS

Status information is now synchronized between Produce and scheduling solutions, i.e. Schedule in the SAP Business One ecosystem and VAPS in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. Whenever the status of a production order or operation is changed in Produce, that transition is reflected in Schedule. Likewise, status data is also synchronized across Produce, VAPS and Business Central. Not only are production order and operation status changes transferred to VAPS, but are also reflected in the corresponding routing line status in Business Central. Moreover, the recorded starting and ending times are registered in Business Central Capacity Ledger entries.

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

Fixed an issue that occasionally blocked users from logging in to Cloud Apps.

  • Produce / Operator

Fixed a bug that prevented the timer to record the working time that elapsed while the terminal went to sleeping mode.

  • Inspect

Fixed a bug that caused quantity to be always set to 1 in inspection orders that were triggered by purchase receipts created in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for items managed by both lots and serial numbers.

Fixed a bug that caused the inspection order detail view in Inspect / Manager to display the timestamp reflecting the start of the operator's work rather than that of the last update performed by the operator.

Fixed a minor bug in the Filter by type functionality of the Available inspection orders list in Inspect / Operator.

Hotfix [March 24, 2025 @11:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

Fixed an issue that occasionally displayed an "unknown error" upon login attempts, and thus blocked users from logging in to Cloud Apps.

New version [March 11, 2025 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce and Schedule

If your ERP system is SAP Business One, your Produce / Manager and Produce / Operator applications have now taken the first step to cooperate with the latest member of the Cloud Apps family: Schedule. Schedule enables you to optimize resource utilization and ensure timely production throughput. It can improve on-time delivery, shorten lead times and optimize processes with effective scheduling. In preparation for automatic scheduling of production orders and their operations, a new column called End date is now added to Produce / Manager and Produce / Operator. Both this and the already existing Start date column have been enhanced to display not just date, but also time of the day if that information is available. Start and end time are used by default in production orders created in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, but they are not handled by SAP Business One. That is where Schedule kicks in. If your ERP system is SAP Business One, you will find a new vertical tab called Schedule on the Produce / Manager Settings / General settings page. If you tick the Use Schedule Start/End date & time checkbox there, then the Start date and End date columns in Produce / Manager and Produce / Operator will show the date and time values copied from Schedule. Otherwise, these fields will contain the date synchronized from SAP Business One.

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce / Operator

Fixed a bug that allowed users to apply sorting on more than one column simultaneously in the All operations or the My operations list which would then result in an error. Now sorting can only be applied on one column at a time in the lists.

New version [November 28, 2024 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce

Produce now can handle machine centers specified in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Just as work centers, machine centers are synchronized to Produce and mapped to resources. Production orders containing machine centers can be fully processed in Produce. As in the case of work centers, resource times booked by operators in Produce / Operator are logged as capacity ledger entries in Business Central.

It is important to point out that a machine center needs to be linked to a work center in order to be synchronized to Produce, since the unit of measure of a machine center is inherited from the work center linked to it. Consequently, a production order using a machine center without a linked work center is not synchronized to Produce either.

  • Produce and Schedule

The release prepares Cloud Apps for the upcoming full integration of Schedule with Produce.

New version [October 30, 2024 @11:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • All applications

By this release, the performance and stability of the applications has been further improved.

  • Produce

Produce Connector, the piece of software that ensures the communication between  Produce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has been enhanced.

  • Produce / Operator

When applying sorting to the All operations list, now the operations of a production order are always listed in the same order as the corresponding route stages are specified in SAP Business One.

  • Build

Item template functionality has been improved. Now if an item is created from a template, both the operation plan and the SAP Business One BoM of the template's base item are copied into the new item. The item's description is now also displayed in the SAP Business One Sales quotation.

Fixed an error for product requests where the calculation of the difference between a manually entered final sales price and the net sales price was wrong.

New version [July 29th, 2024 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce

Production managers can now regulate whether operators on the shop floor can see an approved (released) production order. For this purpose, the list of production orders in Produce / Manager has got a new column called Visible to operator, with a checkbox for each order. For unapproved (unreleased) and completed orders, this checkbox is unchecked and disabled, meaning that the operations of the order do not appear in Produce / Operator. For orders that are in progress, the checkbox is checked and disabled. If an order is approved (released), but no operation has been started on it, then its checkbox is enabled, and, by ticking or unticking it, the production manager can decide whether the order's operation(s) are displayed in Produce / Operator.

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce

If your ERP system is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, please note that a new version of the Produce Connector has been uploaded to Microsoft Appsource that you will need to download in order to be able to use the application.

New version [April 30th, 2024 @11:00 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect

Boyum IT's quality management toolset got another boost with the introduction of equipment to Inspect. Quality managers can now specify and activate equipment to be used in inspections, then assign them to inspection plans (or test steps) in Inspect / Manager. Inspectors on the shop floor can select the equipment they use for their quality checks in Inspect / Operator. When opening the details of an inspection order, managers can see what equipment has been used to get the displayed findings. Equipment calibration/validation cycles are controlled by managers using the Expiration date setting. When an equipment reaches its expiration date, it is automatically deactivated in Inspect / Manager. Upon finalizing an inspection order, its outcome is recorded in SAP Business One. Now the information passed on to SAP Business One also includes equipment data, enabling richer reporting on product quality.

New version [September 28, 2023 @10:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce / Operator

Fixed a bug that mixed up the details of In production inspection orders among operations in the following cases:

  1. The sequence of route stages is changed in SAP Business One, and the production order is re-released;
  2. A duplicate production order is created in SAP Business One where the sequence of the route stages is changed;
  3. A route stage is deleted from the production order in SAP Business One and the order is re-released.

New version [September 20, 2023 @10:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce

Fixed a bug that, in certain cases, prevented the Time change allowed and Multiple operations allowed Produce / Manager settings from taking effect in Produce / Operator.

New version [September 5, 2023 @10:00 UTC]

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce

Fixed a bug that caused the serial numbers issued by Produce getting a continuously growing counter value irrespective of the production order number. Cloud Apps continues to use the serial number format BC-<production order number>-<counter>, but for all newly created production orders, the counter value will now start with 1. Please note that, for production orders created before the current release, the counter will be incremented based on the last value in the system.

New version [August 31st, 2023 @12:00 UTC]

New features

  • Inspect

After its success in the SAP Business One ecosystem, Boyum IT's quality inspection management solution is now also available to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central users. Inspect / Manager and Inspect / Operator can now also be synchronized with Business Central databases, providing a convenient tool to inspection managers and inspectors on the shop floor, enabling real-time data exchange between the quality department and the operational departments. As a first step, currently only raw material inspection is supported, with further functionality to be added later.

  • Produce

Production managers can now select whether an operator can work on more than one operation at any given time. By default, the Multiple operations allowed: Yes radio button is selected on the General tab of all operators' details in Produce / Manager. If the manager changes the setting to No for an operator, then the operator can only start a new operation if they complete or partially complete any operation that they have been working on. In case they still attempt to start a new operation, they will see a warning in Produce / Operator, and the Start button on the operation will be disabled. Any change in the Multiple operations allowed setting takes effect once the given operator has completed or partially completed their ongoing operation(s).

  • Produce / Operator

By default, a new column called My status is displayed in the My operations list. It shows the status of an operation from the given operator's perspective, with the values Not started, In progress, Partially completed and Completed. The column previously called Status has been renamed to Overall status in both the My operations and All operations lists, and continues to show whether an operation has been started or partially completed by at least one operator. Its values can be Not started, Started, and Partially completed, and it is not a default column anymore in the My operations list.

New version [August 9th, 2023 @10:00 UTC]

New features

  • Produce

Production managers can now set for each operator whether they can change the actual time used for an operation in PDC Steps 3 and 5 in Produce / Operator in case the issue method for the related resource is Manual in SAP Business One. By default, the Time change allowed: Yes radio button is selected on the General tab of all operators' details in Produce / Manager. This means that an operator can make changes to the time value unless their manager selects the Time change allowed: No radio button on their details page, and saves the page. The change will take effect when the operator starts processing the next operation in Produce / Operator.

  • Produce / Manager

You can now see a counter in the left-hand menu bar beside Transactions that indicates the number of unprocessed transactions in the system that you may need to take care of. The counter is updated every 2 minutes.

  • Produce / Operator

Operators can now see the priorities of the operations available to them, and thus can always select the more important ones for execution. When the manager changes the priority of a production order, the priority of the corresponding operation(s) is updated in Produce / Operator in real time. High, medium and low priority levels are indicated by red, yellow and green arrows, respectively (just like in Produce / Manager) in a newly added column in both the My operations and All operations lists, and cannot be changed in Produce / Operator.

Fixes and improvements

  • Produce

Fixed a bug that caused a reset of serial numbers when serial numbered stock was consumed, and thus could result in duplicated serial numbers. The serial numbers generated by Produce continue to follow the pattern BC-<Production order no.>-<counter>, but now the bug fix ensures that the <counter> value is always unique, and is incremented each time a product specified in the production order is created.

  • Inspect / Manager

Fixed a bug that allowed the creation of inspection orders for A/P reserve invoices under Goods receipt automations (Support ticket number: 194075). Goods receipt automations are now triggered in SAP Business One by goods receipts and A/P invoices only.
