Duplicate Serial Number

In Electronic manufacturing it is imperative equipment Serial Numbers remains unique to aid future traceability. 

In SAP General settings, you can set the Unique Serial Number by: 

If you manually, try to create a new Serial Number when the same already exist, you get a warning message to continue or not. 

Scenario

1. Receipt from production - insert some serial BC-TEST in my case
2. Good Issue of this serial 
3. Another receipt from production - with the same serial and you'll get this message and you can continue with same serial.

In Produce case there is no warning message and the duplicated Serial Number is created regardless. It would be good to have a similar Unique by Serial number setting. If set, duplication of Serial Number is not permitted.

  Hi Earl,

  I remember this case, there is a ticket in support. We have identified the problem and are currently working on this issue. With the next deployment this will be fixed. I think in August.
