Produmex – Produmex warehouse that does not generate stock or movements in SAP
Is it possible to manage and control stock in a Produmex warehouse without records being posted to the SAP warehouse?

Hi Sergio Fernandez, I'm pretty sure that there is no way to use Produmex WMS without SAP postings.
Produmex is written specifically for SAP B1, there is no 'bridge' or integration component between them. The short hour glass that happens on the WMS mobile device when creating a transaction (i.e., Reception) is because it is running WMS code that directly creates the SAP transactions in real-time.
Could you give more info on the use case here? Is SAP installed and running, they just don't want to update stock in the warehouse? Or is the goal to run Produmex without SAP installed at all? Or something else?
Best,

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply.
The use case is that our customer wants to manage stock that is not owned by them. They only need logistical control with Produmex, but they do not want this stock to affect SAP inventory valuation, item cost, or accounting postings.
SAP Business One is already running with:
- Perpetual inventory.
- Item cost managed at company level.
- No item cost differentiation by warehouse.
Because of this, if we use a normal SAP/Produmex warehouse this third-party stock could affect the item cost and inventory accounting.
SAP is installed and running normally. The question is simply whether Produmex WMS has any standard way to control this type of third-party stock for logistical purposes only, without creating SAP inventory movements or affecting valuation/accounting.
If Produmex always creates SAP stock transactions, then I understand this would not be possible as standard.

Hi Sergio,
The short answer is no, Produmex can't be configured to not create the SAP transactions.
But there are some 'creative' things you can try -
- Setup SAP Approvals on all transactions for a specific BP, originator, etc. This will cause WMS to create draft documents instead of actual documents. Then they can delete the draft documents using B1UP's Draft Data Manager function.
- Set the GL Account Determination to make both sides of the GL postings for inventory post to the same account, causing the posting to net to zero. With Advanced GL Account Determination you may be able to find a Determination Criteria that would cause the determination settings to only impact the desired transactions. Such as by Warehouse, BP Group, etc.
Obviously, things like this would need a lot of testing and buy in from the finance and inventory teams. But it could let the client use Produmex WMS mobile devices, without impacting SAP.
Either way, please let me know what you decide to do.
