Item Placement Tool (IPT) - any way to surpress error if screen field (item) does not exist

Has anyone found a way to suppress the error during screen load when the Item Placement Tool (IPT) attempts to move a screen item (field) that does not currently exist on the screen?

I know this sound contradictory, but it happens when the IPT attempts to manipulate a field that is created by an Add-On and that Add-On is not running. User access security is already used on the IPT (Include / Exclude Users) so that the IPT only runs for users who should be running the Add-On.  The issue here is when the Add-On is not running and the IPT expects it to be online.

I'm looking for some way to just suppress the red-bar error, as it does not otherwise affect the other items on the same IPT.
