Link type fields do not work with UDT type function

Link/Image type fields do no work with UDT function screen.

There is a work-around to opening the file once the path is entered to the field nut since there is no "easy" way of populating the screen with the path, the work-around isn't enough.

 

My suggestion is you add a feature/function that is able to open a browsing window => chose a file => record the path in a text field.

 

if we activate this new function type right clicking/double clicking a text field we can do it when the field is empty to chose the file and to open the file when the field is full. 

 

this can be used in many ways, for example to save a lot of attachments in a separate table and link it to a system object.

I.e. many documentation files for one BP.
