Hi there,

Recently, our company is going to mirgate from old database to new one, and we need to re-import our bom and routing to new database. We've encountered a problem. Because there are over 130,000 lines of bom positions needed to be imported, we have to divide those lines into several files and imported them indiviually. However, some item's bom might be split into two files, and we checked bom in system after import finished. We found out the item's bom (split in two files) only with parts of bom from the second files. For example, file1 contains itemcode 10, itemcode 20 and file 2 contains itemcode 30, itemcode 40, and itemcode 50; after import bom only left itemcode 30 ,40 ,50

Does it need to import or update whole bom altogether?

  Hello Karen,

  why you split the files? this is not a problem import with 130,000 lines, but it will take some time, we're speaking in hours when it's so massive import.

  You should make a import preview before you start and it's better when nobody is using the system at this time - will be faster. Import preview will take some time also.

  And set in configuration wizard - master data - BoM - BoM position - Item, if unknow - ERORR for example, it will be used if will not find the item.
