PBI 4565 - Feature Request - Universal Function SQL Condition/Decisions No planeada

Chris Clos

Would like to see Universal Function like Line Loop is but work on header data.

I am finding that I have multiple Validations that reference the exact same SQL statement (and results function to execute) - Would like to have these in a single UF so we do not have to update all validations.  This scenario happens when I want to have multiple Form Modes and Event combinations.

    Hi Chris,

Our development department have reviewed your request.

It is indeed a good concept, however, after checking the validity and the ability to implement it in B1UP we have come to the conclusion that it would make the B1 Validation much more difficult to understand and make it less usable. Therefore, it is not planned.

    Thanks, Naama

    Hi Chris,

I hope this can be achieved by using ; separators at Item ID column of B1 Validation system where we can do validations for multiple Items at Header Level.

    Regards,

    Bala

While you can do multiple Item ID's in the validation system, there's no way to do multiple Form Modes or Events.

Also I think it would be really beneficial to have a logic process that works using SQL as a UF (non line-loop) where it reacts just like the Line Loops do, just against the header.

    Hi,

Can you provide an example where this is beneficial? Some scenarios where you find this useful?

    Thanks, Naama

The scenario would be I need to run the same logic process when the Event is two different functions, one is Form Closing, another is Menu Click.   The ultimate goal is code re-usability - where it can be called from multiple different validations or other conditions within the SQL for a validation that net the same result.
