Activity Template Character Restrictions

Good Morning.

I am trying to create a template for the Activity Form's Content tab text area field (Form=651 Item=25 Pane=2 Variable=2 OCLG,Notes). The field value needs to have multiple lines as well as forward slashes (/) and asterisks (*). I am able to create a template that has multiple carriage returns but the template seems to stop at 7 lines (4 lines of text & 3 carriage returns).

I'm not able to save a template that has a forward slash character in it within the "magical 7 line window" nor can I save a template with an asterisk in the same.

Is there a character count or type limitation? I see that the field [@BOY_TEMPLATE_LINES].U_BOY_VALEX is ntext and that the backslash character can be problematic but both the forward slash and asterisk characters are stumping me.
If there is a limitation, can that information be added to the documentation and/or the FAQ's for templates?
