Are you using Boyum Print & Deliver?

What is the file type you are trying to send?

  • Jeramie Alward

    Yes I am. Version 2019.03.00.0.

I just can't seem to set a report schedule without a crystal action specified.

File is a text file, tab delimited.

I don't have P & D installed but from looking at the help fie try changing the Attachment Type to "No Attachment" and then add your additional attachments as normal

Update: I was able to get the report action to select the file for attachment. I'm stuck on the scheduler now.
It won't allow me to save and activate the scheduler without specifying a report configuration. However, I do not need to execute or send a report, I just need it to grab the file, attach it and send. Maybe I am overthinking this and Boyum is not the right tool to use. Maybe DB mailer for SQL would be a better option.

    • DB Mailer might be simpler but you seem close
    • Try creating a report configuration with a "Blank" crystal report (Create new report - save as)
  • Jeramie Alward

BRILLIANT IDEA! Doing that now and will let you know.

Okay so that worked! The only problem I am facing now, is it is also sending a TTX file (attachment template I assume since it matches the name?). I have to figure out how to remove this since the report is going to be picked up by an application for ingestion into a custom reporting dashboard.

I think you might be stuck unless the application ignores TTX files.

My understanding is the P & D is based on standard crystal report export functionality so it may not be possible to turn off the TTX file.

Okay I figured it out. If I set the Attachment type = "No attachment", then it allows me to save without an Attachment Template specified. I just hit Run on the B1UP Server Component and my file came over email without the TTX file attached. Geoff, thanks for helping to get the brain cells firing in the right order. I really appreciate it.
