Inspection before and after production
AnsweredI know we currently have inspections at different stages;
- at goods receipt
- in production
- at production receipt
It would also be helpful to have inspections;
- before production (or production start-up)
- after production (or production shut-down)
A use-case for these is for issuing tools that need to be tracked on and off the production line. For example, sharps and ensuring they are accounted for and not left in the finished goods.
If five pairs of scissors are allocated to a production line during start-up, and only four are accounted for at shut-down for the day. In an ideal world, the goods produced are quarantined until the final pair of scissors are found or all finished goods for that period are searched and cleared.
Another use-case could be, checking the production line for broken glass before production or if the equipment (machinery, tools, etc.) is in safe working order.
If you have any questions, let me know.

Hi Ryan,
would it not also be possible to insert a "setup" operation and generate a QC order via this?

I am aware that this capability is also currently not available in Beas.

Hi Ryan,
In Beas have you tried using Beas Script to create a QC Order with Doc Type of Manual? The script would fire at production start and at end, creating the QC Order at each point. Further scripting could compare the results and generate the needed transactions in case of discrepancy.
