We are roughly 6 months away from the first 2021.x releases of Boyum products and we want to give you an update on the expected minimum SAP requirements to expect in 2021. Please note that with all plans this is subject to change.
SAP Business One 9.3 is planned to be the minimum required SAP version that can run Boyum products.
We plan to drop support for SAP Business One 9.2 and make SAP Business One 9.3 PL14 the minimum required version. This is done as SAP Business One 9.2 is no longer in maintenance mode from SAP and to ensure that we can deliver held back features that are dependent on SAP Business One 9.3.
Q: I do not agree with the decision shown above. Is there any way I can change your mind?
A: While we are pretty set on making these changes and have considered them for over the year, feel free to voice your opinion and concerns in the comments section below as there might be scenarios we did not consider.
Q: SAP Business One 9.3 is technically in SAP Maintenance Mode. Why do you still support 9.3 but not 9.2?
A: SAP Business One 9.3 is in maintenance mode as of the end of June 2020. We still see high usage of SAP Business One 9.3, so we felt it was best to keep support for at least another year.
Q: Why did you choose SAP 9.3 PL14 (earlier this article said PL05)
A: We chose this version as it avoids the SAP Font-size bug that plagued 9.3 PL10-PL12. You might still be able to run on lower patch-levels but official testing is not done below PL14. Also since PL14 is the last SAP 9.3 Patch it is strongly recommended to run that version if you do not plan to migrate to SBO 10 soon.
Q: I have more questions. How can I voice them?
A: Feel free to write in the comments below
Q: When are your plans for the first releases in 2021.
A: The first releases are expected in February. See the roadmap schedule on boyum-solutions.com/roadmap.
