Boyum IT vertical solutions are feature rich and very comprehensive software. However, we understand that out-of-the-box solutions do not suit everyone. Our Delivery team will be supporting you in understanding your business needs and customize the software to address those requirements.
Please consider that we are continuously improving the customization tools supplied with the B1 Usability Extension within our vertical solutions (Beas manufacturing, Produmex WMS...). Those tools are the key for enabling you, the partner, to create customization and modifications at ease.
Important note! Please understand that we cannot fulfill all customization requests. Some requests will be declined. We will let you know for each request separately based on our current delivery capacity.
Also, please make sure that as a Partner you have already analyzed the scenario, verified if there is a workaround and if it's possible to achieve the result you wish by using the B1 Usability Package and/or the B1 Usability Extension. Step 1: Request Submission
When you need a new customization done, please create a support ticket. Please make sure the email contains all the requirements documented in the Customization Request Template attached to this article. Also including screenshots, videos, etc. Or in other words – the more the merrier. If the information deemed as mandatory in the change request document will not be provided, your request will not be processed further.
Step 2: Forward to Delivery Team and subsequent requests for information
Our Team will contact you if we need more information. If we cannot receive the required additional information, we will be forced to stop processing your request.
Step 3: Communication of effort estimation, delivery date and sign off
An estimation of man hours effort will be then provided to you within up to 10 working days from the receipt of the finalized change request document. Our team will ask you to sign off and approve the customization request document. This signature is mandatory to finalize the specification and receive a tentative delivery date from our team. You will then have to submit a purchase order for premium services in our portal for the estimated number of man hours within 3 working days. The premium purchase order is required in order to start the development.
Any delay with placing the order in our portal will cause a delay in the delivery date which was communicated to you as our developers need to adjust their schedule prioritizing the confirmed premium purchases.
Step 4: Payment
Once the order is placed in the portal please add to the ticket the confirmation email you receive when placing it. Not sure how to place an order in our portal? please read this article.
Step 5: Start of development and subsequent requests for information
Once the order is entered, our team can start working on the development of the customization. At this stage the specs will be defined and there should be no need of additional information. If the need for additional info will eventually raise, our team will contact you. If we cannot receive the required additional information, we will be forced to stop processing your request.
Step 6: Delivery of customization
Delivery of the customization will be coordinated by the Boyum IT Delivery Team. You will receive the customization as a digital delivery or a link to a downloadable file. Along with this, you will also receive the SDR document containing the delivery and support conditions for the customization as reported here:
"The SDR (software delivery receipt) guarantees that the software related to this customization request has been delivered subsequently to Boyum IT successful internal testing and is compliant to the specs supplied to Boyum IT. Our policy on customization jobs includes a 3 months coverage of support for any bug you might eventually find since the delivery date specified in the SDR (Software delivery receipt) as long as the environment where this software is installed will remain as specified on the change request document originating this development. Once this time is passed or if the environment where this software is being run is by any means changed, any support request on this customization will be classified as a premium service and will be billed on a case by case basis. So please ensure that you have received the relevant files, installed them on a test environment and run all the appropriate checks on your side."
