Please note that we plan that the B1UP 2018.* release will require a minimum SAP version of 9.2 (specific patch-level to be determined).
We set this requirement to follow SAP’s recommended requirements and be able to leverage the specific features SAP 9.2 offer us to make even greater features.
Q: Why do you announce this so early?
A: Some companies like to plan ahead so since it is planned internally we only see benefits in sharing this plan.
Q: What will happen to existing B1UP versions in 2018?
A: Nothing special. They will continue to work as today. It is only the new versions that will run need SAP 9.2 or higher
Q: What versions will be supported after January 1st 2018?
A: We always support the latest 2 years B1UP releases. So 1st of January 2018 B1UP 2018.* and B1UP 2017.* will be the supported versions. Versions older than this will go out of general maintenance (no more hot fixes and no more free support)
Q: Will you create hot fixes for B1UP 2017.* after the new year?
A: Yes but only if is critical bugs and customer is unable to upgrade to SAP 9.2
Q: What SAP version do I need to be on after new year in order to be entitled to free support?
A: Minimum supported version of 2017.x releases are SAP 9.1 PL06... Please note however that this SAP version is technically is not supported by SAP anymore so SAP 9.2 or higher is highly recommended
Q: What SAP 9.2 patch level are required.
A: As we of this writing are still 6 months away it is not 100% set in stone. But it will generally be that minimum version you can download on the SAP Download page.
Q: Will there be any other planed requirements in order to run B1UP 2018.*?
A: So far only SAP 9.2 (and of cause paid 2018 maintenance) are required over the existing requirements. As we get closer though we will evaluate if upgrade in .NET framework, Crystal Report etc. might be needed. But for now we do not expect such new requirements.
